It did not matter.
Loki hauls his unconscious brother onto his back and to safety. Picking up The Hammer was an afterthought.

* To those who feel the need to say that no one can carry Thor's hammer other than Thor. This image has been on Tumblr for months and months and I've already heard the arguments that he can and that he can't. I'm here to tell you he's carrying it so don't bother. Thanks!

This is a wonderful picture
I love the coloring of Thor's cloak, the red is so vibrant among the sandy hues and it creates the illusion that Thor is bigger than he truly is, making Loki seem all the stronger for managing to carry him.
Also, love loki's fabulous hair! ;)

I would absolutely love to see Odin acknowledge the personal victories Loki has overcome. I would love for Odin to recognize his son (cause just cause hes adopted makes him NO LESS A SON - GAH ODIN.)for all the good he COULD do. And WILL do. Because he can be redeemed damnit without being killed.

Theres a couple of fics out there based on this and I am so grateful and proud of every one of them. They are gorgeous and stunning and I am so humbled that people get so emotional and inspired by this work. It had very humble origins in the beginning. So humble that it had nothing to do with the overwhelming message it seems to have sent so many people. I am blessed that it's been received so well.
