International Katara

This is from forever ago but I just recently found it in a folder. So, back a couple of years I did this picture of Katara and Zuko in fire lord and lady garb and wrote about how there can be more than 2-3 colors in fire nation clothing (i.e. red, black, gold). And its ridiculous that the nations ONLY have one or two colors to wear.
Earth kingdom - green
Fire nation - red
Air Nomads - yellow
Water tribes - blue

This is kind of a continuation of that.

So - Avatar land. I believe that there is trading between the countries. Earth Kingdom seems like it would have a huge market for business and they would be like the EIC of Avatar land. Then you have the Fire Nation which is occupying all these different land masses, obviously there is trade through force, going back and forth between the motherland and colonies. The Northern Watertribe is also a large and prosperous nation with strong sailors, on their barren wasteland of a country they absolutley need to trade with everyone else. The small Southern Tribe I could understand not trading with anyone as they are so small, 'backwards', and may not have anything of value worth trading.

So there's trading. There has to be. I bet Katara's favorite color is orange or something. I bet she, just like other girls, loves rainbow colors and is attracted to new and shiny colors and patterns and if she had the money, would splurge on these girly treasures.

I think that she would buy a pretty satin sash in deep green and wear it with her water tribe clothes. I think she would find a dye in a fire nation shop of a delicious yellow and dye her parka that color. I think that she is creative and talented enough to have a personality that requires rainbows.

I apologize if these aren't up to standard Asian culture robes and dress, I did take some liberties with it. I image that, of course, the Water Tribes take after the Inuits of northern america, the Fire Nation of the Japanese (more geisha/kimono like I guess), the Earth Kingdom takes after the Korean/Chinese type of robes and the Air Nomads resemble more of Tibetan traditional robes. Thats just my interpretation. I'd love some feedback :
